Kusadasi Cruise Port → Ephesus: the most popular shore excursion transfer
Kusadasi cruise port welcomes over 600 cruise calls per year, with passengers from MSC, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Celebrity, Costa, Princess and many other lines. The single must-see destination for almost every cruise passenger is Ephesus Ancient City — and our private cruise port to Ephesus transfer at €55 (one-way) or €95 (wait-and-return) is the most cost-effective way to see it without joining a ship-organised excursion.
Why book independently instead of through the cruise line?
Ship-organised Ephesus excursions typically cost $80-$140 per person and pack 30-40 passengers into a coach with a guide working for tips. Self-organised private transfers offer:
- Same Ephesus experience at 1/3 the price for couples and families
- No 6 AM mandatory bus calls — leave the ship when you want
- No shopping stops at carpet/leather showrooms
- Private vehicle, your own pace
- Skip-the-line is not actually a thing at Ephesus — independent visitors with tickets enter as fast as group tours
We also guarantee return-to-ship-on-time. The driver knows the cruise port schedule, builds in a 90-minute safety buffer, and has been operating in this corridor for years. Cruise passengers booking with us have never missed a sailing.
Meeting your driver at the port
When your ship docks, walk through the cruise terminal building (about 200m of duty-free shops). Exit the terminal — your driver will be waiting in the designated transfer pickup zone holding a name sign with your booking reference. You'll receive the driver's name, mobile number and photo via WhatsApp 24 hours before your port day, so there's no confusion.
If your ship anchors offshore and uses tenders (rare in Kusadasi), the same pickup point applies — the driver will wait until the tender brings you to shore.
The route to Ephesus
A quick 30-minute drive: from the cruise port we take Atatürk Boulevard north, join the D-515 towards Selçuk, and arrive at the Ephesus south gate (the standard entrance for self-guided and most guided visits). On request, we can drop at the upper gate (Magnesia) — useful if you have arranged a private guide who prefers that entry.
Wait-and-return: how it works (recommended)
Most cruise passengers book the wait-and-return option at €95:
- Pickup at cruise port — the driver meets you at terminal exit
- 30-minute drive to Ephesus south gate — driver drops you, parks nearby
- You explore Ephesus for up to 4 hours (typical visit 2-3h, includes Terrace Houses)
- Meet driver at the same gate when you finish (we provide his mobile number)
- 30-minute drive back to cruise port — well within the ship's all-aboard time
Total time onshore: 4-5 hours. Most cruise schedules in Kusadasi run 08:00–17:00, giving you plenty of buffer for lunch and shopping after Ephesus.
