Selçuk to Kusadasi Transfer: Prices and Distance Guide
Private transfer from Selçuk train station to Kusadasi: 25-minute route, fixed €35-50 fare, proximity to Ephesus and booking tips, 2026 updated.
Selçuk is a charming town sitting just north of the ancient city of Ephesus. Thanks to its train station, bus terminal and the İzmir-Aydın railway line, getting here from İzmir is very easy. But once you have arrived in Selçuk, the most comfortable way to continue to Kusadasi is a private transfer. In this guide we gather distance, duration, prices and practical details all in one place.
Quick summary
- Distance: ~20 km
- Duration by private car: 25–30 minutes
- Fixed fare: €35–50 (depending on vehicle type)
- Payment: €10 online deposit, remainder in EUR cash to driver
- Best booking window: 24 hours before boarding your train
Why is Selçuk a transit hub?
There are two main ways to reach Selçuk:
- Train: The TCDD commuter train from İzmir Basmane to Selçuk takes about 1 hour 15 minutes. Tickets are cheap (~35 TL) with hourly departures.
- Bus: Direct service from İzmir Üçkuyular bus terminal to Selçuk (~1 hour 30 min).
If you have landed at İzmir Airport on a tight budget, taking the train to Selçuk and then a private transfer to Kusadasi can be an economical combination. It takes slightly longer than a direct airport transfer to Kusadasi, but the total cost is lower.

How does pickup from the train station work?
The Selçuk train station is small and consists of a single building. After stepping off the train:
- Take the single exit on the left of the platform out to the street
- Our driver will be waiting in front of the station building with a name sign
- He places the bags in the vehicle and welcomes you into the air conditioning
- With a complimentary bottle of water, you reach your Kusadasi hotel within 25 minutes
If your train is delayed, we are informed by phone — no extra waiting fee is charged (first 30 minutes included).

On the way from Selçuk to Kusadasi, the Ancient City of Ephesus sits just 3 km to your right. For those who want to seize this magnificent opportunity we offer two options:

We pick you up in Selçuk, wait 2 hours at Ephesus, then drop you off at your Kusadasi hotel. Total €75–90 (by vehicle type). You purchase the entrance ticket at the gate yourself.
Option 2: We take your luggage to the hotel while you visit Ephesus
If you arrive in Selçuk early (for example on the 08:00 train), we take your bags directly to your Kusadasi hotel, you tour Ephesus at your own pace and join us in Kusadasi by taxi or shared minibus in the afternoon. This route is less common but practical for larger families.
