Seabourn Ovation in Kusadasi: Private Driver to Ephesus & Şirince
Seabourn Ovation calls at Kusadasi on Wed 26 May and Wed 18 Aug 2027, times not announced. A spring call and a summer one: how to plan your private taxi day.
Seabourn Ovation has two Kusadasi calls on the schedule for the coming year, both on a Wednesday: 26 May and 18 August 2027. The times for both are not announced yet. The two days are quite different, one in late spring with a single other ship in port, the other in high summer on a busier day, and that shapes how we would plan a private taxi for each.
Good to know: our standard cruise port taxi is the round trip to Ephesus. The House of the Virgin Mary, the Temple of Artemis and Şirince are not part of the Ephesus transfer; they can be added as extra stops for an additional charge. Tell us which ones you want when you book.
Late May versus mid-August
Wed 26 May 2027. Only Odyssey Of The Seas is listed alongside Seabourn Ovation. Late May is still spring, a pleasant season for the long walk down through Ephesus. If the hours allow, this is the call where a full day out to Şirince is most comfortable.
Wed 18 Aug 2027. Emerald Raiya and Odyssey Of The Seas are both in port, so three ships in total. It is also the height of summer, and Ephesus offers little shade between the upper and lower gates. Book early, get off the ship as soon as you can, and do Ephesus in the first part of the day rather than leaving it for the afternoon.

When the times are published
Until Seabourn Ovation's hours appear, nobody can say which stops fit. Once they do, count the hours in port and use our planning estimate (traffic and queues vary):
- 8+ hours: House of the Virgin Mary, Ephesus, Temple of Artemis and Şirince.
- About 6.5 hours: House of the Virgin Mary, Ephesus and Temple of Artemis.
- About 5 hours: Ephesus and Temple of Artemis.
- Below about 4.5 hours: Ephesus is not a safe round trip.
That allows around 30 minutes to get ashore and brings you back to the port at least 60 minutes before departure, or before the all-aboard time in your cruise documents if it is earlier. The longest single item is Ephesus: about 2 hours walking from the upper gate down to the lower gate, and another 30-45 minutes for the Terrace Houses (separate ticket). The House of the Virgin Mary needs 45-60 minutes, Şirince 60-90, the Temple of Artemis 15-20. Drives between them are short: 30-35 minutes from the port to the chapel, about 10 to the upper gate, 5-10 from the lower gate to Artemis, 15-20 to Şirince and 30-35 back to the port; Ephesus or Selçuk to the port takes 20-25.
A route for each call
For a long day, the standard loop: the chapel on Bülbüldağı first (cover shoulders and knees), then the upper gate of Ephesus, the walk past the Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre, your driver at the lower gate, the single standing column of the Temple of Artemis, then Şirince, and back to the port. In August, if the window is mid-length, we would drop Şirince and go back from Selçuk before the hottest part of the afternoon. Şirince's lanes are steep and cobbled, so it is hard going with a pushchair in any month.
Practical points
- Your driver stands at the cruise port exit with your name (port exit location).
- The car is yours alone, for up to 8 people; groups above that get a second car.
- At every stop the driver waits until you are finished.
- Entrance fees are paid by you at each site, since this is a transfer and not a guided tour.
- No prepayment: pay the driver in cash on the day, in EUR, USD or TL.
- We are a local, D2-licensed transfer company.
Ephesus hours and ticket rules are seasonal. Check the official Turkish museums site muze.gov.tr before your trip.
Book a Seabourn Ovation Kusadasi taxi
Tell us the date, the times (or "not announced yet"), the number of passengers and any children's ages: book a cruise port taxi. The Seabourn Ovation at Kusadasi page has the ship's calls, and our Kusadasi cruise port to House of the Virgin Mary taxi post covers the chapel on its own.
What if the times for my Seabourn Ovation call change after I book? Send us the new times. The driver's plan follows the times you give us, and we will tell you plainly if a stop no longer fits.
