West to the coast: Kusadasi, Selçuk, Söke and Didim
The road west passes Germencik and Ortaklar before splitting: north-west to Selçuk and Kusadasi, south-west to Söke and Didim. It is the most common transfer from Aydın, especially for visitors who arrive by train and stay on the coast. Once in Kusadasi, day transfers to Ephesus or to the Temple of Apollo in Didim can be booked online.
East up the valley: Nazilli, Aphrodisias, Denizli and Pamukkale
East of Aydın the valley road runs past Sultanhisar, with the hillside ruins of Nysa, to Nazilli. From Nazilli a side road climbs to Karacasu and Aphrodisias, one of the best-preserved Roman cities in Türkiye. The main road continues to Denizli and the white travertine terraces of Pamukkale. From Aydın, Pamukkale is under two hours away, much closer than from the coast. For background, see our Pamukkale route guide and the article about Karahayıt thermal hotels.
South to Muğla, Bodrum and Marmaris
The road south via Çine and Yatağan crosses the mountains to Muğla city. From there you continue to Marmaris, or west via Milas to Bodrum. Some travellers prefer the Söke–Milas road to Bodrum; the driver chooses the faster option on the day.
North to Izmir and Manisa
The motorway from Aydın to Izmir is the quickest way to Izmir Airport and the city of Izmir, and continues to Manisa. For flights, allow enough time for check-in; give us your flight time and we suggest the pickup.
Practical tips
Station and bus terminal pickups. We can meet you at Aydın train station, the bus terminal, a hotel or a home address. Tell us the train or bus and arrival time.
Luggage. Mention suitcases, pushchairs and anything bulky. A Mercedes Vito takes a family or small group with luggage.
Child seats. Give the ages of the children when you book so suitable seats are fitted.
Summer heat. The Menderes valley is one of the hottest places in western Türkiye in July and August. Early departures are more comfortable, and our vehicles are air-conditioned.
Night and early transfers. We work 24/7, so early-morning airport runs are no problem.
Multi-stop plans. Aydın → Aphrodisias → Pamukkale, or Aydın → Ephesus → Kusadasi: send the whole plan in one message.
