Pamukkale is 3 hours by road from Kusadasi cruise port — too far for ship-organised shore excursions to bother offering it. We do it as a private full-day transfer: gangway pickup at 7am, arrive Pamukkale 10am, 2 hours on the travertines + Hierapolis ruins + Cleopatra's antique pool (optional swim €15), 1 hour roadside lunch, back at the gangway by 6pm with a 1-hour buffer for all-aboard.

Flat rate: van €180 (7 pax, €26 per person at full load), minibus €250 (12 pax, €21 per person). Includes English-speaking driver, bottled water, fuel, road tolls. Excludes Pamukkale entrance (€25 in 2026, paid at the gate in EUR or TL) and lunch.

Why private vs a packaged tour? Speed — we don't stop at carpet shops or jewellery outlets like the bus tours do. Pamukkale is the prize; we maximise time there. You also pick whether to walk barefoot down the travertines (the classic experience) or take the upper viewing path if you'd rather stay dry.

Booking via WhatsApp: send ship name + docking time. We confirm with the driver's photo and licence plate in 30 minutes. Cash on the day, no card required.

  • 12-hour itinerary fits a typical 14-hour cruise port call
  • Includes Hierapolis ancient city + travertines + optional Cleopatra pool
  • No carpet-shop or jewellery stops — direct route
  • Driver tracks all-aboard time and pads 1 hour buffer

Frequently asked

Is 12 hours really enough? My ship leaves at 7pm.

If your ship arrives by 7am and leaves at 7pm, yes — 6am pickup, arrive Pamukkale 9am, 4 hours on site, 1 hour lunch, back at gangway 5pm. If arrival is 8am+ or departure 6pm-, do not attempt Pamukkale; choose Ephesus instead (closer, same private transfer).

Do I have to walk barefoot down the travertines?

Yes, for the classic experience — Turkish law requires no shoes on the travertines to protect the calcium pools. Bring a tote bag for shoes. If you'd rather not, there's an upper viewing path with shoes allowed; you'll see the travertines from above and the Hierapolis ruins.

What if we hit traffic on the way back?

Driver builds 1 hour of buffer into the return. If real-time traffic shows >30 min delay, they'll WhatsApp you 90 minutes before departure to leave the site early. We've never lost a cruise customer to a missed sailing in 200+ Pamukkale runs.
