From Umay Pansion the route follows the Ladies Beach road up to the coastal highway, then the open highway to Pamukkale. In season the first kilometres near the coast can be slow; the highway stretch is quick.
A few words on Pamukkale & Hierapolis
A day at Pamukkale usually splits into three parts: walking the travertines barefoot (shoes off on the calcium surface), swimming in the thermal pool, and touring Hierapolis with its museum. Karahayit, the neighbouring village, is known for red thermal water and quieter hotels.
The site keeps long hours in season. The antique pool, museum and theatre sit inside the archaeological zone, a short walk uphill from the travertine entrance.
