Which Airport for Kusadasi? ADB vs BJV Compared

Kusadasi has no airport. The two realistic choices are Izmir Adnan Menderes (ADB), about 80 km north, and Bodrum-Milas (BJV), about 160 km south-east. Most visitors fly into Izmir — it is closer, the road is a fast motorway and flights are more frequent. Bodrum makes sense when fares to BJV are much cheaper or when you are combining the trip with the Bodrum peninsula.

Izmir Airport (ADB) — the default choice

• Distance: ~80 km, about 75 minutes via the O-31 motorway
• Direct motorway, no mountain roads
• Most flights from Istanbul, Europe and the Middle East land here
• Private transfer, Havas shuttle bus and taxis all available

From ADB to your hotel

• Private transfer: door-to-door, fixed price per vehicle, driver waits at arrivals. Best for families, groups and late arrivals.
• Havas shuttle: cheapest per seat, but leaves on its own schedule and ends at the Kusadasi bus terminal — you still need a taxi from there.
• Airport taxi: available 24/7, metered, roughly the same price as a private car in normal traffic — without the guarantees.

Bodrum Airport (BJV) — the alternative

• Distance: ~160 km, about 2 hours via Milas and Soke
• Worth it when the flight is much cheaper, or when you plan to spend time on the Bodrum peninsula first
• The road crosses the Bafa Lake area — scenic but slower
