Collection is at your hotel door. On the day, the car reaches Dolly Apartments five to ten minutes early and waits for you.

About Ephesus

Ephesus was a Roman port city of around 250,000 people. Ephesus is the headline ancient site of the region: the Celsus Library, the 25,000-seat Great Theatre, Curetes Street, the Terrace Houses and, 8 km away on the mountain, the House of Virgin Mary.

On the day itself

Terrace Houses has its own ticket inside the site and its own turnstile; if it is on your list, budget an extra half hour and a second queue. There is little shade on the marble street; a hat, water and sunscreen matter from May to September.

Tickets are sold at both gates and card is accepted; having payment ready keeps the morning line short. Pick your gate before you arrive: starting at the upper (Magnesia) gate means the whole visit runs downhill to the lower gate, which is the easier walk and the order most guides suggest.

About the vehicle
