What the drive looks like

The trip breaks into two parts: the short local leg on the city ring road onto the Kusadasi-Selcuk highway, and the highway run to Pamukkale. The driver watches the traffic and chooses the quickest sensible line.

Know before you go: Pamukkale

Pamukkale is a UNESCO World Heritage site: white travertine terraces formed by thermal springs, the antique Cleopatra Pool where you can swim among sunken columns, and the Hierapolis ruins with a huge hillside theatre. The small museum in the old bath building is worth a few extra minutes.

Pamukkale village sits below the terraces, about 200 km from Kusadasi centre. In winter the terraces steam; in summer an early start beats both the heat and the crowds.

Meeting and drop-off
