Kusadasi Family Holiday: Guide for Trips with Kids

Family holiday guide to Kusadasi with kids: Adaland and Aqua Fantasy, safe beaches, kid-friendly restaurants, stroller tips and transfers with baby seats.

For families with children Kuşadası is actually a great Aegean destination — two big aquaparks, dozens of shallow beaches, kids' menus, short distances. But details like strollers on Kaleici's steps, hot midday hours, and choosing between sea and pool can break a holiday. Having taken our own kids to Kuşadası, we've put together a practical guide from first-hand experience.

Quick summary

  • Best age: 3+ (aquapark), 1+ (beach hotel pools)
  • Best season: late May – June, September – early October (July/August too hot)
  • Daily budget (family of 4): €80–150
  • Transfer with baby seat: free in all our vehicles (order in advance)
  • Stroller difficulty: tough in Kaleici and Bar Street, flat along the coast

Aquaparks — the biggest kid magnet

Adaland

One of the biggest aquaparks in Turkey. 34 different slides, dolphin show, wave pool.

  • Location: Çamlimanı area, 5 km north of the center
  • Entry (2026): Adult ~€40, 6–11 years ~€25, 0–5 years free
  • Hours: 10:00–18:00 (until 19:00 in July/August)
  • Dolphin pool: Extra fee (show + swim session)
  • Tip: get the fast-track ticket. In July slide queues hit 1 hour, the fast pass is worth it
  • Food: self-service inside, outside food not allowed. Prices 30% higher

Aqua Fantasy Aquapark & Spa Hotel

Technically a hotel, but its aquapark admits outside guests. Smaller slide network, but more sophisticated kids' pools.

  • Location: Selçuk road, 15 km from the center
  • Entry (2026): ~€35 adult for non-guests
  • Slides: family-oriented, shorter queues
  • Hotel option: stay here and the aquapark is included + full board

Which one?

  • Crowded but varied = Adaland
  • Smaller but calmer, hotel comfort = Aqua Fantasy
  • Kids 6+ = Adaland (bigger slides appeal)
  • Kids 3–5 = Aqua Fantasy (better kids' pools)

Safest beaches for kids

1. Ladies Beach

Walking distance from the center, shallow water knee-deep for 30 m. The most popular for children. But:

  • Heavy crowds (July/August)
  • Paid umbrellas
  • Not sandy but pebbled — water shoes + beach sandals help

2. Ilıca (Güzelçamlı side)

  • Mix of sand and pebbles, clear water
  • Less crowded
  • Short walk to Dilek Peninsula National Park

3. Pamucak

  • 15 km from the center, on the Selçuk road
  • 4 km of sandy beach, shallow
  • More waves (exposed to wind) — keep a close eye on little ones

4. Silverside (Gümüş sahil)

  • Zone dense with family-oriented hotels
  • Sustained cleanliness (Blue Flag beach)
  • Kids' playgrounds along the sand

Watch out for

  • Turtle protection zones on some beaches — between May and September don't leave gear on the sand overnight
  • Jellyfish increase late August — vinegar+soap for stings, not serious but they sting
  • Sun hours: don't take kids onto the sand between 12:00 and 15:00, keep them cool

Kid-friendly restaurants

Central area

  • Kazım Usta — Aegean meze & fish, kids' menu, play corner
  • Orient Restaurant (Kaleici) — English kids' menu, mantı, köfte options
  • Beşparmak (Atatürk Boulevard) — pasta, pizza, various kebabs
  • Captain's — seafront, sea views, high chairs

Family-oriented chains

  • Midpoint, Burger King, McDonald's — at Forum AVM — lifesavers on rainy/hot days
  • Şekerim Pasta & Dondurma — homemade ice cream, ask about allergens

Dinner tips

  • 19:00–20:30 is the kid-friendly window — after 21:00 restaurants get noisy, with music
  • Dinner in Kaleici is lovely, but the streets are narrow for strollers — a baby carrier is easier
  • Don't hesitate to ask for a kids' menu — most places make one even if it's not printed

Stroller logic

Central Kuşadası is moderately stroller-friendly:

Easy zones:

  • Atatürk Boulevard (flat promenade)
  • Seafront
  • Forum AVM
  • Inside Adaland / Aqua Fantasy
  • Hotel grounds

Hard zones:

  • Kaleici — steep slope + cobbles
  • Bar Street — morning debris isn't pleasant, narrow pavements
  • Slope up to Pigeon Island — hard to push
  • Ephesus ruins — uneven terrain, carrier needed

Recommendation

  • Bring a compact fold-up stroller (Babyzen Yoyo, Bugaboo Bee)
  • Also bring a baby backpack carrier — for Ephesus, Kaleici, ancient sites
  • Some hotels lend strollers — ask at check-in

Kid-friendly activity ideas

Aquarium / zoo

  • Kuşadası Fish and Animal Garden — small but free, relaxed for kids

Boat tours

  • Full-day Dilek Peninsula boat tour — swim in shallow coves, lunch onboard. Kids 5+ enjoy
  • Private boat (4 hours) — family booking at your own pace
  • Life jackets are on every boat, but bringing your own child-size one is more comfortable

Paid / educational

  • Ephesus Terrace Houses — great for kids 10+ curious about ancient history
  • House of the Virgin Mary — story for kids, short visit (30 min)
  • Şirince — village experience, car-free lanes, candy shops

Entertainment

  • Adaland dolphin show — kids love it
  • Watching ships at Kuşadası Port — at sunset huge cruise ships come and go

Why the baby seat in transfers matters

In Turkey car seats for children are a legal requirement: rear-facing for under 3, booster for 3–12. You can't fit a baby seat in a taxi — most taxis don't have one, and they don't want you to bring one, but in a crash insurance may refuse.

Our transfer vehicles always carry:

  • 0–12 months baby seat (rear-facing) — free, order in advance
  • 1–3 years toddler seat — free
  • 3–12 years booster — free
  • Max 2 child seats per vehicle — within the 7-seater Vito capacity

When booking, include your child's age/weight and the vehicle arrives with the right seat. At the airport pickup the driver is waiting with the name board and the seat is already fitted.

Sample 7-day family plan

  • Day 1: Airport pickup, hotel check-in, pool
  • Day 2: Adaland (full day)
  • Day 3: Ladies Beach / hotel beach
  • Day 4: Short Ephesus tour (early morning) + Şirince lunch
  • Day 5: Dilek Peninsula boat tour
  • Day 6: Kuşadası city + Kaleici dinner
  • Day 7: Hotel pool, afternoon airport transfer

For family transfers our standard vehicle is the 7-seater Mercedes Vito: 2 adults + 3 kids + stroller + luggage fit. Baby seats free, please note in advance. Fixed price — no surcharge for children. The cabin has a mini fridge and water temperature can be adjusted for a baby's bottle.
